It may be hard to remember at times life without the Peaky Blinders on our screens, life without tweed caps bobbing down the high street in their masses and life without tweed suits and pocket watch chains appearing at every wedding of the season, but it’s been less than 5 years since we were first given the pleasure of watching Series 1. Fast forward to today, and the story of the Shelby family in 1920s Birmingham has triumphed, with Peaky Blinders winning Best Drama Series at the BAFTA TV Awards.
Steven Knight was seen on stage wearing his Garrison Tailors silk scarf thanking everyone involved, from his parents who lived the real Peaky Blinders life to actors who he feels deserve their own spotlight at the BAFTA awards.
It’s not about ending on a high for Peaky Blinders though, there’s more Peaky Blinders on the way as Steven has declared how he wants to end the drama… with the first World War 2 air raid siren and presumably a lot more tweed!
